All individuals are eligible to receive our services at private-pay rates. Individuals may qualify to receive our services at subsidized rates based on monthly income and asset levels. The Senior Law Project provides free legal advice, counseling and representation in court or administrative hearings for seniors age 60 or over on a variety of civil legal issues, including: Public benefits, housing, nursing home problems; and family law, including marriage dissolution, order for protection, and third-party custody; power of attorney, health care directive, consumer issues, and citizenship. The Senior LinkAge Line® is a free service in Minnesota that connects older Minnesotans and their families with the help they need. Assistance is provided over the phone or in person on a regular basis.
The Senior LinkAge Line provides free help to older adults who may need support remaining in or returning to their home. Providers can submit a referral or a person can self-refer for help. When we receive the referral, we will work with the person and/or caregiver to understand the person’s needs and preferences, help connect them with services in their community and follow-up to support long-term success.

Veterans Services are provided through Chisago County Health and Human Services on the main floor of the Government Center. We provide guidance and assistance to veterans, their spouse / survivors and dependents. We are here to help you apply for veterans benefits as provided by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
In addition, we provide transportation to the VA Health Care System – Minneapolis and the VA Health Care System – St. Cloud to those in need of this service. We also provide referrals to a variety of other public and private programs and work closely with veterans organizations concerning programs and changes.
